Asbestos roof removal.
Then factory demolition.

We removed the asbestos roof before starting demolition of this ageing factory in Smithfield, Sydney. Work on the remaining building was under way at our 12 October 2026 update.

Inside the factory: the exposed roof frame and remaining walls.

Work recorded on 12 October 2026.

With the asbestos roof removed, we worked through the remaining frame and walls, using machinery to bring down the structure and handle the removed material.

Planning a factory removal?

For your own factory or workshop removal, provide the available asbestos register and reports with the demolition plans. Identify the roof and wall materials involved, areas excluded from assessment, adjoining operations and the structures or services that remain.

Confirm the removal licence-holder, required monitoring and independent clearance arrangements in the scope. If a roofer or demolition contractor is taking over afterwards, agree access, temporary protection and the records required for that handover. For suspected asbestos roofs, use existing photos rather than climbing up to inspect.
